Blues Announce Preseason Ticket Date / FanFest

Blues Announce Preseason Ticket On Sale Date and FANfest for September 15 Preseason Tickets On Sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Single-game tickets for St. Louis Blues preseason home games in 2007-08 will go on sale Friday, August 24 at 10 a.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the Scottrade Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations, including Macy's, Schnucks Video Clubs and Streetside Records. Fans may also purchase tickets at stlouisblues.com or ticketmaster.com, or by calling (314) 241-1888 or (618) 222-2900.

The Blues will open the preseason on September 16 vs. Atlanta. The two other home games are slated for September 28 vs. Minnesota and September 29 vs. Chicago. St. Louis will play seven total preseason games which will include visits to Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago and Minnesota.

Ticket prices are $15, $25, $42, $60, $100 and $125. Glass seats, in rows B through D of Scottrade Center, are $105, $110 and $115.

Queens Of The Stone Age formed from the ashes of the group Kyuss when the group broke up in 1995. Although, it's had a revolving door of musicians as part of the lineup and different band names, its lead singer/guitarist Josh Homme rechristened the band to be called Queens Of The Stone Age. The group released their self-titled debut LP in late 1998.

In mid-2000, Queens Of The Stone Age issued their sophomore album, R. The group built a great buzz due to accolades from such publications like Rolling Stone and in part to good old-fashioned touring. The following year, they put together their third studio album, Songs for the Deaf, which was one of the year's most anticipated hard rock albums. Ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl was very vocal in the press about his respect for the band, which led to an invitation for him to join the group for the new album's recording and also the tour. Resisting the musical trends in New York City, vocalist/guitarist Craig Finn (ex-Lifter Puller) formed the Hold Steady after moving from Minneapolis in 2000. Wanting to capture the sound of bands such as the Replacements and the Grifters, he recruited guitarist Tad Kubler (also ex-Lifter Puller), drummer Judd Counsell, and bassist Galen Polivka. Recording mostly live, the band released its debut, Almost Killed Me, on Frenchkiss Records in March 2004. Dave Gardener (Rocket from the Crypt, Drive Like Jehu) and Dean Botulonis signed on to produce Separation Sunday, which arrived in 2005. The World/Inferno Friendship Society's Franz Nicolay (keyboards) and Bobby Drake (drums), formerly of End Transmission and Arm, were also added to the Hold Steady lineup. The band's third effort, 2006's Boys and Girls in America, marked their first release for Vagrant.
